Do I have to remove the background?+
No. Choose Keep image as is or Remove background for each image. Opaque areas cover layers behind them; transparent cutouts let those layers show through. External uploads cost 2 credits to prepare with either choice.
Can I use landscape images?+
Yes. Portrait artwork naturally suits the 2:3 card. Landscape backgrounds fill the card with a centered crop; characters and effects keep their proportions and fit inside the card. The image generator also supports square and landscape output.
How can I make a better transparent PNG?+
Keep the whole subject inside the image, use a clear silhouette and leave room around hair or accessories. For foreground effects, keep the center mostly empty. Request background removal if you want the scenery behind a subject to stay visible.
What is a holographic trading card maker?+
It is an online tool that turns a photo or illustration into a digital collectible card. Holo Card Maker adds editable typography, original frames, interactive tilt and light-reactive foil. Turn the card through 360° to explore its shimmering finish.
Can I use my own photo or anime character?+
Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image you own or have permission to use. Personalize the name, subtitle and message without regenerating the image. Transparent PNG artwork works especially well with the depth effect. Use original characters and authorized fan artwork.
Is the card maker free?+
Signed-in accounts receive 10 daily credits for 1–2 image layouts. Ready-made scenery, effects, frames and interactive HTML are free. A paid balance unlocks 3–5 image layouts and advanced controls. AI creation is in a private preview; purchases remain disabled during testing.
What is the difference between the free preview and AI creation?+
Explore studio examples without credits. A new image in the card editor costs 4.5 credits. Preparing an external upload costs 2 credits, whether you keep or remove its background. Your own saved image is free to reuse as is; a new cutout costs 2 credits. Only completed processing is applied to the finished card.
Does it work on mobile?+
Yes. Drag the card with your finger to see the foil move, and tap Flip to view its back. Motion controls can be enabled on compatible devices. If WebGL is unavailable, the original artwork remains visible.
Can I download or share my trading card?+
Save a self-contained interactive HTML on every plan, including free. Send the file to a friend and they can rotate it in a browser. Artwork, settings and the player are inside the file, with a link to make their own card. Messaging apps may block HTML previews or attachments; save the file and open it with a browser that supports WebGL. New layered cards currently use HTML delivery; older classic cards also support hosted links.
Can I edit a saved HTML after my online card expires?+
Yes, if you saved the file before expiry. Choose Import saved HTML in the editor that created it. Images, text and saved settings are restored locally; importing does not republish the card or add credits. Layered Template Lab files also reopen in the new card workspace. If the online files have expired and you have no downloaded copy, we cannot restore the artwork.
Do you print physical holographic cards?+
This studio creates digital cards. It does not print or ship physical foil cards. A PNG can be a starting point for a print design, but a printer will need its own bleed, color and foil-production specifications.
Are my uploads public?+
Your photo stays on your device until you request preparation or generation, or publish a classic card. Card and asset links are unlisted, not password-protected: anyone with a link can view them. Only upload and share images you have permission to use.
Is this the official Holo Card Studio website?+
Holo Card Maker is an independent card-making service. You can find our open-source acknowledgment in the footer.
